To safely melt natural beeswax pellets, follow these concise steps:
1. Prepare a Double Boiler: Pour water into a larger pot until it’s about one to two inches deep, then nestle a smaller pot or a bowl that’s safe for heat inside it.
2. Warm Up: Turn the heat to medium and wait for the water to start simmering.
3. Introduce Beeswax: Gently place the beeswax pellets into the upper part of your double boiler setup.
4. Mix Carefully: With a spatula that can withstand heat, gently mix the beeswax now and then as it liquefies.
5. Watch the Heat: Keep an eye on the temperature to make sure the beeswax doesn’t go over its melting point, which is around 145°F (63°C), to avoid burning it.
6. Finish: After the beeswax has completely melted, cautiously take the top container out of the double boiler, wearing gloves for protection.
